Culprit Salty Tubes

Culprit - A New Edge in Bass Lures

Culprit’s super salty tubes feature the classic tube lure styling with a plastic body injected throughout with salt to enhance its fish-catching ability. As always, Culprits unique color combinations were created to more closely imitate those of natural bait.

I use a lot of tubes throughout the year and have jumped from brand to brand because of availability and quality. Now that Culprit has a high quality tube offering that is widely available, I will be using them exclusively.

In a recent field test, the Culprit tube caught more smallmouth than a non-salted, flavor-enhanced competitor. My partner for the day was using the competitors bait for about one hour before asking for the Culprit.

These tubes are fairly rugged in construction and do not tear very easily. The wide range of colors mean that you can more easily adapt to various fishing condition. Culprit super salty tubes are available in Chartreuse/Silver Fleck, Melon Pepper/Chartreuse Pepper, Black Melon, Black/Gold, Pearl/Silver Fleck, Smoke/Black & Red Fleck, Orange Pumpkin, Salt & Pepper, and Yellow Pumpkin.

Culprit - A New Edge in Bass Lures

My most productive colors for smallmouth have been Chartreuse/Silver Fleck and Green Pumpkin. For largemouth, I tend to favor Green Pumpkin and Orange Pumpkin. For 90% of the tube fishing that I do, I rig them on a tube jig head with an exposed hook. I am fishing mainly rock piles and riprap with them. When I do flip these tubes, I stick a small piece of worm inside to give the hook and sinker a little more plastic to hold onto.
