Tips & Techniques

  • Line Spooling and Soaking — Pre-stretching the line does wonders to the “fishability” of it and can also take some older line and make them behave better.

  • Rigging a Culprit Woolly Booger — The Culprit Woolly Booger© is fast becoming my go to bait. I have found that this bait provokes rod snapping bites when the fishing seems tough.

  • Carolina-Rigging a Floating Tube — I use a Carolina rigged floating tube often for Lake Erie smallmouth and it catches alot of fish when the wind kicks up.

  • Pitching Crankbaits — I like to pitch these crankbaits into places that other anglers throw spinnerbaits to such as laydowns, stumps and brushpiles.
