Kellie Skelton
Home: Aztec, New Mexico
Years Fishing: 40
Anglers I Admire: Rick Clunn, Kevin Van Dam, Steve Kennedy, and Gerald Swindell
Occupation: Competitive Angler and Environmental/Safety Consultant
Boat: 2008 Legend LE-21 with 225 Mercury Outboard, dual 520LC Lowrance GPS, and a Minn kota trolling motor.
Sponsors: Legend Boats, Mercury Marine, Secret Weapon Lure, Scooter Baits, J&M Hooks and Lures, Berkley, Lowrance, BUDCO Rods, and High Desert Tackle
Tournaments: Local Tournaments, Federation Nation, Angler's Choice, and Women's Bass masters Tour
Affiliations: Original Central Florida Bass Club, Hub City Bassmasters, B.A.S.S. Lifetime Member, North American Fishing Club Lifetime Member, FLW Outdoors Member, Association of Bass Professionals, Tracker Trophy
Notable Achievements: All time career highlight was making the Legend National Team, but also fishing the Women's Bass Masters tour and being a two time qualifier for the Anglers Choice Tournament of Champions.
Best Bodies of Water: Lake Powell, Clear Lake, Lake Amistad, Navajo Lake and Neely Henry.
Favorite Fishing Spot: Trees and Stick ups
Favorite Techniques: Texas rig and walking the spook.
Hobbies: Fishing and writing. I write for several publications in hard print and online.
Pro Pointers: Fish never move very far. If you were catching fish yesterday, chances are they are still within a 100 yard radius of where you were the day before. Evaluate the conditions since the day before to determine if they moved up or down, or maybe are there and being stubborn. Try the reaction baits like Secret Weapon spinners before moving.
